パナマクロスは中南米のエクアドルを発祥とする伝統的な「パナマハット」の編み目に由来しています。その美しい編み目と涼しげな質感をテキスタイルで再現する試みがヨーロッパで行われました。それは優れた通気性を持つ平織物として確立されたのでした。
本作で使用しているパナマクロスは一般的なそれとは違い、まるでガーゼのような質感を見せています。これはボイル糸を使用して、特殊な加工を施しているからです。ボイル糸とは通常よりも強い撚りがかけられた糸のことで、ドライでサラサラとした肌触りが特徴です。そこにリネンのシャリ感が加わることで、より軽やかで清涼感のあるパナマクロスになっています。さらに表面からは凹凸を伴ったシボ感が見て取れます。こらが肌離れの良さを生んでいるのです。

Panama cloth originates from the weave of the traditional “Panama hat” from Ecuador in Central America. Attempts were made in Europe to recreate its beautiful weave and cool texture in textiles. This resulted in the establishment of a plain weave fabric with excellent breathability.

The Panama cloth used in this product differs from typical Panama cloth, exhibiting a gauze-like texture. This is due to the use of voile yarn and a special processing technique. Voile yarn is a yarn with a stronger twist than usual, characterized by its dry and smooth feel. The addition of linen’s crispness further enhances the lightness and coolness of the Panama cloth. Furthermore, a textured, uneven surface is visible, contributing to its excellent breathability.

本作はオープンカラーですが、一番上はチーループではなく段返りになっています。もちろん上まで閉めることができます。

シャツは縫製手法も印象を左右する重要ポイントだと考えております。本作は全てを本縫いミシンで仕立ててあります。ドレスシャツのように縫製することで繊細で上品な印象に仕立てるためです。

釦は天然の貝を使用しています。
螺鈿細工のように煌びやかなものではなく、見た感じはマットな乳白色が特徴です。それは原料が海水貝ではなく、淡水貝だということを意味しています。濃色は染色したものになります。これはTAKE&SONSのシャツの多くに使用されている釦です。

This shirt features an open collar, but the top lapel is not a drawstring loop; it has a rolled lapels. Of course, it can be buttoned all the way up.

We believe that the sewing technique is a crucial factor in determining the overall impression of a shirt. This shirt is entirely constructed using a lockstitch sewing machine. This dress shirt-like construction creates a delicate and elegant impression.

The buttons are made from natural shell.

Unlike the glittering raven-like finish of mother-of-pearl inlay, they have a matte, milky white appearance. This indicates that the raw material is freshwater shell, not saltwater shell. Darker colors are achieved through dyeing. These are the buttons used on many TAKE&SONS shirts.
