中綿が分厚く入ったフライトジャケットではなく、ライトなタイプをイメージしてもらえたらと思います。
通常、フライトジャケットはセットインスリーブですが、本作ではラグランスリーブを採用しています。その理由は配色にあります。オリーブの方ををご覧ください。身頃のセージ色に対して袖がオリーブ色になっています。ベストな色バランスがラグランスリーブだったのです。さらにラグランスリーブはサイドストライプを搭載するのに最適でした。サイドストライプと胸のパッチポケットにはTAKE&SONS定番のパラフィンコットンを使用しています。リブを含めると、見える範囲でも素材が3種類となり、さらに配色要素も加わることで、ジャケットの構成要素は複雑さを増しますが、破綻をおこすことなく上手くバランスが取れたと思います。一方のブラックはファスナーのムシに至るまで、全てをブラックで統一しています。

I would like you to imagine it as a lighter type of jacket, rather than a flight jacket with thick padding.
Flight jackets typically have set-in sleeves, but this one uses raglan sleeves. The reason for this is the color scheme. Take a look at the olive version. The sleeves are olive against the sage color of the body. Raglan sleeves were the best color balance. Furthermore, raglan sleeves were ideal for incorporating side stripes. The side stripes and chest patch pocket are made from TAKE&SONS’ standard paraffin cotton. Including the ribbing means that there are three different materials in the visible area, and with the addition of color scheme elements, the jacket’s components become more complex, but I think we’ve achieved a good balance without creating any disruptions. On the other hand, the black version is unified in black, even down to the zipper tabs.

次に、冒頭でお伝えしました『ライトなタイプのフライトジャケット』についてですが、ライトとはいえ、本作は秋冬のジャケットですから、表地と裏地の間に何も入ってないわけではありません。袖を触ってもらうと分りやすいですが、内部に厚みを感じると思います。これは一般的にMA-1に使用されている中綿とは違い、裏地のレーヨンを二重織りにして、裏に仕込んだウール面を起毛させることで防寒性を高めたものです。これはヴィンテージのL-2Bに見られる裏地の仕様で、表地を上回る非常に高度な裏地です。身頃にはこの裏地に加えて薄中綿をかませてあります。（袖は裏地のみです）
分厚い中綿のボリュームを必要とせずとも、適度な防寒性を備えたスマートな佇まいは、都会的な装いとして有効ではないでしょうか。

Next, regarding the “light flight jacket” I mentioned at the beginning, although it’s lightweight, this jacket is designed for fall and winter, so it’s not completely empty between the outer and inner layers. If you touch the sleeves, you’ll notice a thick interior. This differs from the padding typically found in MA-1 jackets; the rayon lining is double-woven, with a brushed wool lining for enhanced warmth. This is the same lining found in vintage L-2B jackets, and is an extremely advanced lining that surpasses the outer layer. In addition to this lining, the body is lined with a thin layer of padding (the sleeves are simply lined).
The smart look and moderate warmth without the bulk of thick padding make this a useful urban piece.
