商品名の『CL』とはコットンリネンを指しています。杢糸を使うことでツイードライクな表情を狙いました。（本来ツイードとはスコットランド発祥の、紡毛を使用した毛織物のこと）コットンだけではツイードのような雰囲気になりません。そこでリネンの特徴でもある、良い意味での『色ムラ』や『シャリ感』を加えることで、ツイード特有のざっくりした質感や、味わい深い素朴な外観を表現し、先染めでクラシックなチェック柄にしています。
また、ツイードのような質感を再現する上で、糸節や糸ムラなどがランダムに混入しております。これらは演出上、必要なテクスチャーだと考えております。

The “CL” in the product name refers to cotton linen. By using heathered yarn, we aimed for a tweed-like look. (Tweed is originally a woolen fabric made from wool, originating in Scotland.)Cotton alone does not create the same look as tweed, so by adding the “uneven color” and “crispness” that are characteristic of linen, we have created a classic check pattern with yarn dyeing, which gives it the rough texture and tasteful, rustic appearance that is unique to tweed.
In order to recreate the texture of tweed, knots and unevenness in the thread are randomly mixed in. We believe that these are necessary textures for the presentation.

シャツは縫製手法も印象を左右する重要ポイントだと考えております。本作は巻き縫いに至るまで全てを本縫いミシンで仕立ててあります。ドレスシャツのように縫製することで繊細で上品な印象に仕上げ、ツイーディな素材との対比を明確にました。この対極にある要素がかみ合った独特な雰囲気を私は好んでいます。

釦は天然の貝を使用しています。螺鈿細工のように煌びやかなものではなく、見た感じはマットな乳白色が特徴です。それは原料が海水貝ではなく、淡水貝だということを意味しています。
これらはTAKE&SONSのシャツの多くに使用されている釦です。

I believe that the sewing method is an important factor in determining the impression a shirt makes. This piece was made entirely with a lockstitch sewing machine, right down to the rolled seams. By sewing it like a dress shirt, it gives off a delicate and elegant impression, which contrasts sharply with the tweedy material. I like the unique atmosphere that results from the combination of these polar opposites.

The buttons are made from natural shells. They are not as shiny as mother-of-pearl inlay, but have a matte milky white appearance. This means that they are made from freshwater shells, not saltwater shells. These are the buttons used on many of TAKE&SONS’ shirts.
